The Challenge – Managing Social Media and Email Accounts
Crookley Park Estate is a retail company located in Horndean in Hampshire. They have 3 key areas of business:
- A Fabrics Department that produces hand made curtains and blinds, as well as selling fabrics and related accessories;
- A Gifts Department that sells a variety of high quality gifts and also specializes in seasonal gifts such as Christmas decorations; and
- A Café that sells homemade meals, hot drinks and cakes.
Crookley Park Estate already had an Instagram and Facebook account set up, along with a Mailchimp Email account. These had been used sporadically in the past but the team at Crookley Park Estate were struggling to find time to create and post content regularly or to send out email newsletters.
Crookley Park Estate wanted to grow all areas of their business and wanted to use their digital assets as part of a wider marketing campaign.
The Solution
Red Kight Solutions were asked if they could help.
Crookley Park Estate already had some professionally produced imagery, as well as access to image libraries from a number of their gift product suppliers, but there were areas of their business that lacked professional imagery, so we arranged for a professional photographer associate of ours (Penny Plimmer from Japics Photographic) to do a couple of photo shoots, one for some new displays in the fabircs area and one for the Christmas Gifts and Festive Afternoon Tea promotion that was going to be launched in November.
We worked with the team at Crookley Park Estate to produce some social media templates that matched their overall corporate branding.
We spent time with the team at Crookley Park Estate developing a content strategy and posting schedule. This not only covered key theme to build content around but also included the development of a specific posting schedule.
On average we are producing 3 posts a week, plus a couple of reels each month.
We have used the agreed content and branding layouts to produce the content for the monthly email newsletter, as well as occasional one-off newsletters to highlight special promotions.
We continue to meet with the team on a monthly basis to review outcomes of previous activities and to plan content for the next month.
The Results
Not only has the work increased the visibility of Crookley Park Estate online, but there has been significant business growth too.
Posting consistently and keeping to brand has seen a growth in reach and interactions both on Facebook and Instagram.
Each Email Newsletter is getting approximately a 50% open rate.
More importantly, Crookley Park Estate has seen significant growth in business. For example in 2023 they sold 19 Festive Afternoon Teas. In 2024 they sold out all the allocated Festive Afternoon Teas that they had planned, which is nearly 100, so they have had a 500% growth in this specifically targeted area of their business.
Crookley Park Estate have also run a number of seasonal workshops whilst we have been working with them and all of them have sold significantly more tickets than in previous years, many of them selling out completely.
Other areas of the business have also performed significantly better in 2024 since we have been running their social media and email marketing.
